11th Annual Fine Arts Extravaganza and CLI/SEL Showcase

May 3, 2019 5:30-7:30

We need your help to make this event happen! Please Sign up to help below! No art talent needed!

What is the Fine Arts Extravaganza?

Every student PreK - 5th Grade will have a Self Portrait inspired by a famous artist on display. Save yourself a trip to the framer and purchase the Framed Art for $25! The Frame sale benefits the art program! Unsold art will be returned to students without a frame.

Every student Kinder - 5th Grade will have a "Fantasy" themed project on display, that they planned and created themselves!

3rd-5th graders will have the opportunity to show off their recorder skills at the Recorder Showcase.

The Gecko Choir Spring Show will happen at 7:00 at the Café Think Stage.

Each grade level will have an activity showcasing the Creative (CLI) and Social Emotional (SEL) Learning that happens in their classes.

Don't worry about dinner!

We will have pizza for sale, so you can bring the whole family and see the wonderful art the students have been working on all year!

Last Call! Lost & Found

Please check the lost and found for your lost items. All the items have been nicely sorted (please re-hang anything you drop!) WE ARE GETTING RID OF ALL OF IT THIS WEDNESDAY, May 1st!

There are a ton of jackets and sweatshirts there but also a lot of water bottles, hats, gloves, a few small toys and even a sleeping bag.

What is the plan for the unclaimed items?

We are re-selling them at the Allandale neighborhood garage sale on May 4, 8am-2pm, at 2606 Park view Drive. All proceeds will be donated to Gecko Fund!! (How smart is that?!)

Attention 5th Grade Boys and Girls

Troops 49 and 490 are hosting an evening of fun and challenging outdoor games in Brentwood Park on Tuesday, April 30th at 7pm, and we would love for you to join us!

Our troops are comprised of boys and girls ages 11-17, and we're actively recruiting for any 5th graders that want to be part of a youth-led group with a dedicated group of adult volunteers.

We'll be playing games that are part of scouting's C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) program, which are all about having a blast while encouraging teamwork.

Be sure to wear close-toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting wet in.

2019-2020 Parent Input Form

The due date for the 2019-2020 Parent Input Form has passed but Principal Brown said there’s still limited time to submit your form and input. Search “Parent Input Form” on Living Tree or stop by the office to pick one up.

Get it in now to provide input regarding your child's teacher(s) for next year. This form is confidential and will only be seen by the assistant principal, Yolanda Wilkins, and the Principal, Tisha Brown.

Weed Warriors Grounds Meetups

Every 2 weeks on Monday until May 31, 2019

Mon 4/29/19, 7:45 - 8:45 am

Get your garden on this Spring! Everyone is welcome!

The Weed Warriors meet on the first and third Mondays of each month. Come help us rake and tidy up the various ramps and playgrounds for an hour (or 15 minutes if that's all you can spare!).

Check-in for badge at the office, they'll point you to the team. We'll see you at the front of the school after the 2nd morning bell!

Remember it's the parents who keep our campus looking great, and with spring upon us, there's always plenty to do

Need Hydroponic Help!

Any parents have Hydroponic experience and or interest?

We have a system that was donated to us, but they went out of business before we learned how to use it. If you would like to take it, learn how to use it and share that knowledge back with us- that would be great! It's a POLYBOT system. If interested, let me know
