The goal of the Create Your State Project was to have a participating school from each of the fifty states. The project became so popular, that we ended up with many schools with more than one state- in fact, 47 states have at least two participating schools with 133 participating schools all together.
Originally, each school was promised a free book as a thank you for participating and as a tool to help them use the book to fund raise for their art departments, most which function on much too low a budget. Originally, the cost was manageable for the Gullett Elementary Art Department to cover.
BUT, with almost three times as many schools participating as originally expected, the cost of the book more than doubled as it grew in length, and we now have 83 extra schools to send books to.
This is a financial strain that Gullett can't shoulder on its own.
Please consider sponsoring a book, or even part of a book for a school that will not be able to afford to purchase one on their own.
