What is Gullett’s enrollment?
We have around 564 students.
What time does school start?
School starts at 7:45 a.m.
What time are students released for the day?
Kindergartners are dismissed at 2:35 p.m.; all other classes are dismissed at 2:45 p.m.
Why does my child have a different teacher for special areas?
In order to offer every student a special area — art, music, or phys-ed, every day, we had to supplement our special area staff with three teachers from Cassis Elementary. This teachers work on a part-time basis and held out in the primary grade levels.
Can parents visit campus anytime?
We invite parents to observe and participate in their child’s education. You may want to contact your child’s teacher to find out what opportunities exist for parents in that classroom. It’s also fun to visit your child at lunchtime.
What information do you need if my child misses a day due to illness?
Please call the school’s absence line in the morning (414-2732) to let us know your child will be out, and send a note upon the student’s return to school.
How do you handle tardy arrivals?
Students are required to sign-in in the office, and provide a reason for their lateness. If they have been at a doctor’s appointment, they should get a note from the doctor.
Can I pay for my child’s lunch online?
Yes. You can set up an account for your chld at: MyLunchMoney.com.
What is the Gecko Fund fundraiser?
We ask parents for donations to the school to cover Spanish classes, their PTA membership and much more. In this way, we don’t have to raise money by selling gift wrap and types of sales.
Am I required to be a part of the Gecko Fund fundraiser?
Absolutely not. It is a voluntary contribution to the school. We simply ask that you donate what you can.
Why do you have animals on campus?
We’ll always have animals on campus. They add some diversity to our school and help make us unique. Years ago, our Principle was part-owner of Crowes Nest Farm. She started the tradition.
How can I learn more about Gullett and the things that my child may be involved in?
Our parent education committee schedules several seminars throughout the year about our campus and things that affect your child. The committee advertises upcoming events in the Thursday newsletter and on our website. Additionally, the staff is available to answer your questions.
Is there a pre-k program at Gullett?

My child talks a lot about WOW time. What is it?
We encourage our students to walk around the track every day. The laps that they walk during the year are counted toward their Marathon Kids goals, for which the physical education teacher Ms. Brauss signs every child at our school up.
